A LITTLE CURIOSITY. A LOVELY DISCOVERY.

Island Bastion — Idle Naval Defense

Defend a central island against increasingly strong waves of destroyers, gunboats, armored cruisers and bombers, each announced with its approach direction. Place weapons in three concentric rings, earn gold from destroyed enemies, and upgrade a defense network that fires and repairs itself.

A little how-to

Begin with 160 gold and 21 empty slots: ten coastal, seven anti-aircraft and four rocket positions. Install a coastal gun or rocket silo before launching. Each wave approaches from an announced compass direction; wave 1 comes from the north, and the fleet shifts at most 45 degrees per wave through wave 5 and 90 degrees after that. Coastal guns target ships on their own seaward side, AA targets aircraft, and rocket silos target anything in every direction. Destroyers arrive from wave 1 and bombers from wave 3. Fast gunboats arrive in packs of three from wave 4. Armored cruisers, which take half damage from coastal guns, arrive from wave 5. Bombers fly in squadrons of three from wave 6. Ships patrol their side of the island while firing. Aircraft attack once and return toward their entry point; escapes earn no gold and do not block the next wave. Upgrading a weapon to level 5 and to level 10 offers a permanent choice of two specializations: heavy shells or rapid fire, then wide traverse or a bunker for coastal guns; flak bursts or long range, then fast tracking or dual-purpose fire at ships for AA; cluster warheads or armor-piercing rockets, then twin launch or rapid reload for rocket silos. Weapons rebuild for free after 12 seconds when disabled, or 5 seconds when bunkered. Losing the command core removes 25% of unspent gold rounded up, retains weapons and upgrades, and resumes after eight seconds from the previous five-wave checkpoint (waves 1, 5, 10, 15 and so on). From wave 15 you may retreat voluntarily: the island restarts at wave 1 without weapons or gold, and you earn command stars (best wave minus 12) to buy permanent doctrine ranks for more gold per kill, cheaper weapons, more starting gold, a tougher core or faster reloads.

Controls

Click or tap a position, then choose Install or Upgrade. All controls support Tab and Enter. Launch starts automatic waves. Pause freezes combat, 2× accelerates it, and the optional auto-upgrade switch spends gold on the lowest-level installed weapon but never chooses a specialization.

Progress and scoring

Progress saves automatically, including weapons, specializations, command stars and doctrines. Signed in, it syncs to your Galorum account and other devices; as a guest it stays in this browser on this device and is not moved into an account when you sign in. A wave in progress is not saved, so after a reload the current wave restarts. Defeat retains purchased weapons, there are no offline earnings, and a Reset saved progress control starts a fresh island.

Gold comes from destroyed ships and aircraft, rises with each wave, and every cleared wave pays a bonus. The interface tracks the current wave and total enemies destroyed. Island Bastion is unranked and submits no online leaderboard results.
